Try out Freeze-dried Pineapple Pieces from Augason Farms to add a refreshing zest of tropical flavour to your routine food storage and diversify your nutrition! A varied diet is very important; it keeps you healthy in emergencies, and keeps you happy year-round. Freeze-dried pineapple is a great supplementary source of dietary fiber and magnesium and Vitamin C, and also makes an excellent addition to granola, cereal, baked goods, and more! Freeze-dried pineapple has a light, sweet taste, and a nice crunch and is ready whenever you are! Even better, there’s no mess or waste to deal with — no inedible core, no prickly outer skin, no spiky stem. Freeze-drying preserves all of the nutrition and benefits of pineapple in a shelf-stable application.

Pineapple is an excellent source of calcium, potassium, manganese, insoluble fiber, and vitamins such as Vitamin A, B, and C. It also contains bromelain which is useful as a tenderizer, and is a natural anti-inflammatory. Freeze-dried pineapple is incredibly versatile, perfect for everything from sweet snacks to savoury meals. It can be eaten out of hand, used in a trail mix, used in baking, in some Asian-inspired dishes or in pork dishes, or added to leafy salads for a sweet crunch, or even use in beverages such as smoothies or mix with club soda for an easy punch.
