Emergency Food Rescue Program: How You Can Make a Difference 

With food bank visits in Canada increasing by 35% between 2019 and 2022 and over 2 million visits in March of 2024 alone, many organizations are struggling to meet the demand. At Total Prepare, we recognize that emergency food supplies often go to waste due to expiration, while people in need go hungry. That’s why we’ve launched our Emergency Food Rescue Program to connect soon-to-expire food with local food banks before it ends up in landfills. 

By donating soon-to-expire emergency meals, businesses and individuals can make a significant impact. Not only will you help feed your community, but you’ll also keep valuable food out of the waste stream and reduce disposal costs. Donations are often eligible for charitable tax receipts, adding an extra incentive to give back. 

Through our program, we’ll notify you when your food is nearing expiry, making it easy to donate on time. We also offer special replenishment rates for organizations that donate and can connect you with local food banks in need. 

You can also help by organizing food drives or purchasing non-perishables to donate directly. Every can, box, and bar counts in the fight against hunger.
