Maximizing Space in Your Survival Kit

Maximiz your space

It’s one thing to be on board with emergency preparedness and buy every supply you could possibly need. It’s another to know how to pack an effective and efficient survival kit that will be accessible and portable when needed.

Lists come in handy when you’re trying to prioritize exactly what you’ll need. Organization is key. Knowing your area and the common risks is the first step to sorting out the applicable items. From there, you may want to simply purchase a ready-to-go survival kit that suits your needs. But you’ll still want to look through the contents of your purchase and ensure that everything applies to you and the situations you’re preparing for. You’ll also want to make note of any items that might be missing, for your particular needs.

One way to save space and maximize efficiency is to get dual-purpose products, such as our Collapsible Solar Bottle Lantern. Who would have thought that a water bottle could also be a light source? It’s so multi-purpose, in fact, that it can be used in at least 3 different ways!

  • Water bottle
  • Protective, waterproof container for your valuables
  • Solar lamp

Perhaps best of all, it can collapse on itself so it’s just a few inches tall and wide, and even continue shining while collapsed. It will also shine while it’s full of water or stuffed with valuables.

We have a number of other emergency items that are multi-purpose, such as our FRX5 Cell/Tablet Charging Weather Alert Radio, among others.

Whether you’re just beginning to put together an emergency survival kit, or are reassessing the one you’ve got, it’s a good idea to consider the space you have and how much you can carry.
